OUR

STORY

PLEASURE IS THE ONLY MEASURE

Formely called Self-Pleasure Club, we were born out of the realization of the lack of spaces and resources to talk about pleasure for marginalized groups and the many stigmas surrounding this.  As a queer woman, I felt the lack of queer pleasure visibility and representation of diverse realities. It took me years to realise and accept that my pleasure was defying the prevalent heteronormative standards. I was inspired by my own experience as a feminist activist and the punk feminist movement of the 90’s where women shook up male-dominated industries and would gather in basements to create zines. I wanted to create a community space focused on pleasure education where me and my friends could do the same.

Self-Pleasure Club has been through many iterations but with the same clear mission to empower our community to explore their pleasure in a healthy, embodied and creative way, free from stigma or shame. We have hosted over 50 workshops and one-off events at different venues across London with themes ranging from Solo Tantra to Kink to Embodied Consent.

In 2025, we are rebranding as Collective of Pleasure with a mission to redefine the narrative on pleasure through workshops, events and creative productions to create a blueprint of diverse expressions of pleasure, sxxuality and relationships. C.O.P promotes the idea that pleasure is a fundamental right and works to create an inclusive community where everyone can connect with their needs, share resources, and break societal taboos around sexuality and pleasure.

WHO IS IT FOR?

Collective of Pleasure is for any* curious, adventurous, and creative humans who want to define, explore and expand their unique pleasure - free from society’s should and shouldn’t.

We celebrate and welcome all identities, especially those traditionally excluded from pleasure-positive spaces. LGBTQIA+, BIPOC and neurodivergent humans to the front!

*Some of our workshops have a specific audience, please check their info page.

WHO IS COLLECTIVE OF PLEASURE?

We are a creative grassroots collective on a mission to empower people to unapologetically explore their pleasure. Through our workshops, events and creative productions we aim to question and transcend the concepts of hetero-mono-normativity in intimacy, relationships, and sxxuality.

We believe in creating a safer, braver, and more powerful space to connect to our unique needs and desires, to open conversations and smash societal taboo. We are pleasure activists and believe that pleasure is a birthright and an everyday essential that everyone should have access to.

Together, we want to build an inclusive community where diverse identities and stories are not only welcomed but celebrated. We strive to create a new blueprint for intimacy in which we redefine pleasure, transcend shame and step into our full pleasure potential.

“MAKE THE REVOLUTION IRRESISTIBLE”

— Toni Cade Bambara

  • We are pleasure activists. We want to smash taboos and make shame-free pleasure accessible to all. We collectively reimagine outdated narratives surrounding love, sexuality and relationships to promote a more equitable future.

  • We believe in the power of the collective for transformation and healing. We create spaces to come together, share our experiences and learn from one another. We grew up in a world lacking inclusive representation and diverse blueprints for what pleasure, sexuality and love could look like. By creating communities and open dialogue, we shed light on the diversity of authentic pleasure stories.

  • Sexuality and eroticism is a core part of what makes us human. Yet we live in an era of disconnection, living in our heads, dominated by an ideology of personal productivity.

We offer support, tools and resources to come back home to ourselves and remember what makes us alive. We believe that having the space to understand and define our wants, needs and desires is critical to owning our pleasure and meeting ourselves with compassion and honesty.

  • Playfulness helps regulate our nervous system and allow us to connect with our bodies and one another. We believe in playful exploration, joyful pleasure and approaching newness with curiosity. Playfulness helps us remember what pleasure feels like in our bodies and unlearn sexual miseducation.

  • Queer is both an identity and an action. For all, we believe in queering our pleasure for collective and individual liberation. Our workshops provide reflection and tools to free our lives from the hetero and mononormative notions that don’t align with our wants and our versions of pleasure. We encourage curiosity, creativity and openness in the exploration of sexuality. We invite our community to go beyond the limitations of what has been taught on sexuality and pleasure.
